Additional coverage for Canadian Geographical Names! Saskatchewan data is now available without cost!

The Geographical Names Board of Canada (GNBC) is pleased to announce that Saskatchewan has now joined 10 other data suppliers for the exchange of geographical names data without cost on the GeoBase Portal. Complete data downloads by province or territory, were already available since the end of April for: Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
Provincial data coverage for Saskatchewan is now available in KML (Keyhole Markup Language), GML (Geography Markup Language), ESRI Shapefile and in text formats. The remaining provincial data sets will be available once agreements have been finalized.
