Alignment between the Municipal Boundaries data theme and other GeoBase themes
The data provided in the Municipal Boundaries layer has no legal representation whatsoever. The Municipal Boundaries data is not to be used for defining legal boundaries. Administrative decisions should be based on legal documents and legal survey plans.
In most cases, users will find that the alignment between municipal features and other GeoBase features such as the National Hydrographic Network (NHN) and the National Road Network (NRN) fits rather well. However in some cases, users will notice misalignments between boundaries of municipal features and boundaries of other features (e.g. river edges, road segments, etc.). These misalignments may be the result of various circumstances.
